The feel of an island with the connectability of an Peninsula – Aminess Hotel Grand Azur
Right on the edge of the Pelješac Peninsula the Aminess Hotel Grand Azur is nestled in between the adriatic sea and a beautiful pine forest. It belongs to the Aminess Hotel Collection with 5 other hotels dotted around Croatia and is a short drive (2 hours) from Dubrovnik which was the perfect opportunity for me to get away from hustle and bustle and find peace and serenity here at the Adriatic sea.
I would categorize the hotel as very family oriented as it includes an all inclusive package which liberates the parents from an on going search for a place to eat and especially the Mirami mini club that has an animation program for children but if you wanna experience the culinary offers in Orebic the closest town to the hotel (10 minute walk) you can also book half board. The hotel has a retro vibe to it with a wooden paneled bed post, cupboards and wooden design elements in the reception and dining area. The helpful staff was ready for me during my check in which was one of the fastest I have ever had.
Pool
Right after I dropped my luggage I was off for a jump into the outdoor pool to cool off at these high temperatures in August. There are a lot of lounge chairs dotted around the pool area so you should be able to find a place to do some professional sunbathing. If by any chance all seats are occupied which might happen in high season the beautiful pristine waters of the Adriatic sea are literally 10 steps away. Now this is what I call lovely! Pine trees are offering shade along the pebbled beach with jetties protruding into the ocean and inviting me for a quick jump into the cool waters. The hotel owned beach restaurant is a neat addition to enjoy a quick cup of coffee or a cool beer.
If you take a right in front of the hotel you can also enjoy a drink and rent a cabana with a comfy mattress and white linen curtains. I honestly forgot the name of the bar but just follow the road to the right and you should be fine.
The breakfast and dinner menu is varied with a selection of international and local specialties. Additionally beer and wine and of course all non alcoholic beverages are free. Speaking of wine – the whole Peninsula is famous for its local vineyards and from the Aminess Hotel Grand Azur you can quickly go on a road trip and experience it for yourself.
Other than that Aminess Hotel Grand Azur located ideally to go surfing in Viganj (10min) or Kuciste (5min), visit the beautiful island of Korcula (15min boat ride) or just take a stroll along the coastline.
All in all I had a good time and would especially recommend visiting the Aminess Hotel Grand Azur during Off Season because imagine having this place (see below) for yourself even during the day.
