Paper thin pizza for every pocket at Yours Truly
They call themselves a “lifestyle outlet”, ok we’ll just roll with that. Yours Truly is located in the middle of Kloof Street, the heart and soul of hip Cape Town. On the sprawling patio of Yours Truly, the cool kids and youngish professionals hang out to drink coffee, enjoy the handmade sandwiches during the day or chow down one of those delicious thin crust pizzas at night. With its easy-going lounge vibe it’s the perfect hangout for self-appointed opinion leaders to talk about the next art installation which they want to exhibit, attend or write about.
The servers are friendly and try their best to keep the customer satisfied. But they are just as likely to crack a joke or want to be part of your selfie.
On their website they advertise art and live bands which we didn’t see or hear, but maybe you’ll be lucky and catch a live act, so make sure to check. As far as we could tell the main reason to go to Yours Truly is the pizza, which is so delicious that we had to fight over the last one they had left. Six variations of the classic Italian pizza are on the menu., starting with “The Deluxe”, a salami pizza with avocados and feta cheese and ending with the “Nice to Meaty”, topped with Italian-style salami, gypsy ham, bacon and chorizo sausage.
For the daytime visitors the all much-loved sandwiches – that you’ll need two hands to hold – will keep you going. The names are wacky: You can choose between The Don, Edward Max or Junky Funky.
Verdict: A hipster haven for the hungry crowds on Kloof Street. Yours Truly serves delicious sandwiches, pizza, coffee and art. Get there early before they sell out.
