Winning Awards and taking names at the Mandarin Oriental
This hotel has won numerous awards and it’s a luxury hotel that provides you with all amenities expected of a five-star establishment. The reasons to check in to the Mandarin Oriental in San Francisco are the award-winning spa and the panoramic view of the Bay… truly breathtaking. Even as we took these pictures we wished we could enjoy it longer. It’s the third tallest building of San Francisco, so even if you book a lower floor you will still be above the rest of the world.
It’s located close to all the tourist locations a first-time visitor is interested in (Cable Cars, China Town, Fisherman’s Wharf, Nob Hill) so you don’t spend your hard-earned money on expensive cab fares in a city with an awful traffic system.
The rooms are designed to withstand the trends of time. So nothing outstandingly cutting-edge but all in a high-quality, well-kept and clean. But we have a hypothesis to why the interiors are so calm with reduced colors and no frills. The room’s decor couldn’t even try to complete with this dramatic view of San Francisco.
The views come with in-room binoculars so you can enjoy some serious spying. This massive place encompasses 151 rooms and 7 suites and the oriental suite is especially worth mentioning. The brasserie S&P on the main floor has a raw bar, and tasty menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the staff from the concierge team are members of the famous Les Clefs d’Or (i.e. awesome service guaranteed). Unfortunately we never got a chance to review the spa but if we get a chance to check it out we will definitely update. For their own synopsis, here is the link. The reception area is tiny and needs a bit of an decor update, but who cares if you are about to ride the elevator to the top.

The Verdict: If you’re going for stellar views and a central location this is your best bet. No chain does it better. Enjoy!
